Altair ExpertAI

Altair ExpertAI adds a new “unsupervised machine learning” mechanism to the Design Explorer in HyperWorks.

       It guides optimization tools to ‘classify and cluster’ the results of design exploration according to user-defined criteria, and then applies these classifications as constraints in new optimization runs.

Altair ExpertAI is now seamlessly integrated into the HyperWorks product suite, becoming a powerful tool for AI-enhanced simulation and generative design.

       Altair ExpertAI technology applies to any physics-based manufacturing or simulation domain, including stamping, casting, CFD, electromagnetics, topology-optimization filtering, and even product appearance and aesthetics.

       For automated design optimization, the experience and domain knowledge accumulated by dedicated design engineers are invaluable. However, some of this expertise is tied to subjective design criteria—such as aesthetics—which are difficult to quantify.

      These subjective elements require human-involved processes, which traditionally conflict with automation in design optimization. Altair ExpertAI solves this challenge by training and deploying classification models that mimic expert behavior, allowing subjective design criteria to be included in automated workflows.
