Comprehensive material constitutive and failure model library
.......The Radioss solver includes one of the most comprehensive material constitutive and failure model libraries (with more than 300 combinations), enabling simulation of metals, alloys, composites (PLY-based and compatible with OS format), foams, rubber, concrete, biological materials, and many more material behaviors, together with multiple failure models that can be combined as needed. The explicit extended finite element method can be applied to multi-layer structures to better simulate crack growth. In addition to Lagrangian formulations, Radioss also provides advanced multi-physics simulation technologies such as Eulerian formulations, Arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE), Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH), and the finite volume method. Based on these fluid algorithms, the Radioss solver can perform fluid–structure interaction and multi-material flow simulations. The finite volume airbag algorithm realistically represents gas flow inside the airbag. With its accurate results and fast solution performance, it is widely used for airbag simulations in full vehicle models as well as sealed component simulations. Benefiting from the HyperWorks solution platform, the Radioss solver also supports nonlinear optimization. Combined with Altair OptiStruct and HyperStudy, Radioss has become a key component in advanced optimization-driven design and robustness analysis workflows.
