Altair romAI

Preface

Altair romAI is an AI-based reduced-order modeling (ROM) and system identification tool that brings revolutionary AI technology into Altair Twin Activate.
Based on simulation and test data, romAI uses reduced-order models (ROMs) for system evaluation, which greatly accelerates simulations that originally require heavy computation, such as discrete element method (DEM), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and finite element analysis (FEA). This allows more time to explore and optimize system performance.

This highly efficient solution helps teams shorten time-to-market, significantly reduce cost, and achieve continuous development goals faster.

romAI workflow

【 Why choose romAI?

Easy to use

  • No-code workflow.

  • The interface, data import, and AI training workflow are simple and intuitive.

Compatibility, openness, and flexibility

  • romAI is tuned to efficiently perform multidisciplinary analysis.

  • Supports commonly used FMI and DLL standards.

Unmatched innovation

  • Combines AI with dynamic system theory and techniques.

  • Delivers excellent results even from relatively small datasets.

Build dynamic system models to create ROMs and perform system prediction

【 Key features of Altair romAI 】

Data preparation: from tests / simulations
Preprocess and filter raw data as required, helping users understand the correlation between variables.

Model training (ML): static and dynamic modeling
Define the inputs and outputs of the dynamic model, and configure state variables as needed. romAI can automatically explore or let you manually define neural network parameters such as the number of hidden layers, number of neurons, and training epochs.

Result evaluation: validate model performance
Using target-versus-prediction plots, hyperplanes, and time-/instance-based evaluation results, you can assess the accuracy of the models generated by romAI.

Deploy models from Twin Activate for system simulation
Models generated by romAI are reusable and accelerate multidisciplinary analysis and digital twin configuration. They can also be exported as FMI, C code, or DLL-format models for use in third-party software or hardware.

【 Altair romAI applications 】

Altair romAI is a versatile and robust AI technology module within Altair Twin Activate. In model-based development workflows, romAI is an essential tool suitable for a wide range of use cases: building reduced-order models of systems, speeding up optimization and multidisciplinary analysis, processing test data required for system identification, delivering more accurate simulation results, and extending to digital twin creation and deployment.
Altair® romAI supports many commonly used model file formats, including the Functional Mock-up Interface (FMI) standard, C code, and dynamic link libraries (DLLs), enabling export to third-party software or hardware applications. For dynamic system-related problems, the continuous-time dynamic models generated by romAI can work seamlessly with solver results at arbitrary time steps.

Applicable to a wide range of domains, including thermal, electrical, fluid, motion, and particle systems
