Vivaldi Antenna High-Frequency Analysis
Apr.10,2024

【 Background 】

The Vivaldi antenna (also known as the tapered slot antenna, TSA) is widely used in aerospace applications due to its suitability for high-speed environments. In advanced antenna engineering, Vivaldi antenna arrays are one of the key technologies. However, high-frequency electromagnetic analysis for such applications is computationally expensive, often creating a significant burden for engineering teams.
Beyond the hardware requirements for simulation, analysis time itself often becomes inefficient—especially when design parameters need to be optimized. In such cases, computational cost can increase by tens or even hundreds of times, making the task extremely difficult.

【 Results 】

By selecting suitable single algorithms or hybrid algorithm strategies, Feko reduces simulation cost by more than one-third while maintaining reliable accuracy. With these faster algorithm combinations, parameter optimization can be performed efficiently. Once the optimal parameters are determined, a final high-accuracy simulation is conducted for verification. This workflow effectively overcomes the major barriers of computational cost and enables efficient antenna design.
