【 Background 】

       The client of this project is one of the world’s top three sewing machine manufacturers. To complete the motorized intelligent sewing machine's electronic control system, firmware engineers previously wrote C code to build the control architecture, using sensor feedback to control two stepper motors and a DC motor while performing intelligent sewing operations.
       Richin assisted the client in establishing a workflow that uses Embed to replace part of the original C code in the electronic control system, aiming to make the control system more intelligent, efficient, and robust.


 


 

【 Solution 】

  • Using Embed to partially replace the firmware engineers’ C code, and gradually using Embed to replace most of the company’s legacy C code.

  • Embed supports efficient device drivers for all chip peripheral hardware, especially for motor control, which is extremely convenient. Interrupts can be directly configured and processed (the option is in composite blocks).

  • Supports installation of measurement devices for all subsystems running on the MCU.

  • Model-based design and block-diagram communication for controlling sensors, actuators, and devices can be automatically converted into C code and programmed onto the control board, eliminating the need to write complex programs and making maintenance easier.

 
 

【 Results 】

  • A workflow using Embed to replace part of the C code in the electronic control system has now been successfully established.

  • Embed supports the full model-based design (MBD) process, from modeling and simulation to hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.

  • Automatically and efficiently generates C code based on module block diagrams and state machine models.

  • No need to manually write code—using three simple steps (compile, link, download), the generated C code can be executed on the target microcontroller.

  • Real-time operating system support for control loops and background threads.

  • Access to all peripherals of supported MCU targets.
