【 Background 】

       The input force and vibration of machine tools mainly come from the cutting tool and machining processes. Building an analysis model that captures the transmission of tool-induced force requires a complex setup, and tool load simulation can only be simplified. Therefore, the goal of this project is to define effective and accurate loading conditions within CAE analysis.


 

【 Process & Benefits 】

  1. Using the True-load workflow, only analysis models for areas of interest need to be constructed.

  2. Combine True-load Pre-test to determine where strain gauges should be pre-applied on the machine tool.

  3. Based on the determined strain gauge positions, conduct physical testing and input the measured strain history into True-load.

  4. True-load then calculates the loading conditions that combine test data with mechanical theory.

  5. The True-load post-processing QSE module can use these loading results to back-calculate the analysis results of an equivalent complex analysis model.

  6. These loading results can also be applied in lightweight design and structural optimization for subsequent machine tool development.
