Pneumatic Nail Gun Firing Analysis | Fluid–Structure Interaction (FSI)
Apr.10,2024

In the past, it was extremely challenging to use CAE to simulate the firing behavior of a pneumatic nail gun. This is because the load acting on the nail gun comes from high-pressure air, and the pressure applied to the firing pin is not constant (a transient phenomenon). Therefore, fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analysis is required.

This project simulates the full process in which the firing pin is pushed by aerodynamic force and directly impacts the test rod. The simulation accurately computes the force history curve on the firing pin, allowing engineers to understand how design parameters influence resistance or driving force. This greatly supports product design and R&D for nail guns, significantly reducing development time and cost.
