【 Background 】

       Inside components such as oil tanks and lubrication tanks, rotating gears and bearings require sufficient lubrication to operate properly. Therefore, gearboxes typically include baffles, flow guides, and other design features to help distribute lubricant to every corner, ensuring maximum lubrication effectiveness. In this case, the client’s gearbox design suffered from uneven lubrication. They sought assistance from Richin Technology to perform lubricant CAE analysis to identify the cause of insufficient lubrication and help improve the lubrication performance.


 

【 Results 】

       This project used Altair nanoFluidX to analyze lubricant distribution. After identifying the cause of insufficient lubrication in the original design, subsequent improvements were proposed—such as adding oil-guiding plates and modifying oil channels—greatly increasing the immersion time of gears and shafts and significantly improving lubrication performance.
