Fluid–Structure Interaction (FSI) Analysis of a Metal Flower Sculpture
Apr.10,2024

Public art installations enhance a city’s cultural atmosphere and have become increasingly common in outdoor public spaces in recent years. For outdoor artworks, wind load is the primary source of structural stress. When typhoons strike, cases of installations being blown over or broken are frequently reported.

Traditionally, wind load is applied as static pressure on the structure, which cannot accurately reflect the forces created by the actual airflow. This project adopts Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) analysis to directly simulate wind-induced flow behavior under typhoon conditions and obtain corresponding stress distribution, enabling a far more precise evaluation of structural strength.
